I know that this newsletter is very stout and I know that it is disturbing. It should be on all counts. First, as the scripture says, "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves." (II Cor 13:5) Folks, our faith should be in Jesus Christ and Him alone. If you are constantly challenging what Jesus said to accommodate your doctrine, then you are not following Jesus. You are following something else. It might be the teaching of some denomination or some dynamic preacher but it is poison if it contradicts Jesus! You cannot pick and choose only the things you like that Jesus said. You have to take Him just as He is. Otherwise, you create a new Jesus - a false Jesus and following your false Christ will damn your soul!!
It is amazing to
see people constantly afraid of agreeing with Jesus for fear that it might
offend someone. People kowtow to compromised ministers who are afraid to embrace
the Jesus of the Bible supposedly for the unity of the church. What unity can
there be if it is not in Christ? What good is any unity that ignores the
blood-red letters of Jesus Christ!?
How dare we sit in judgment on Jesus’ words! God have mercy! How dare you call
yourself a Christian and challenge anything He says!
When I was a boy we used to say "God said it, I believe it and that settles it!" But now I realize we should have said "God said it and that settles it whether I believe it or not." Lord, I believe, help my unbelief!
And finally, we should be troubled that we know so little of the red letters. For too long, we've heard sermons built on one scripture here and another over there, tied together to make some preacher's point. Away with that! Try opening your Bible to Matthew 5-7 and listen to Jesus preach. Or try if you prefer Matthew 25, or if you like prophecy, Matthew 24. You'll be amazed at how much you'll understand and if you know anything at all of the Spirit of God you will want to repent.
I'm not trying to be hard. I'm telling you the truth. Your allegiance needs to be to Jesus. He alone is worthy! See Him with me. In Rev 19 the Bible says:
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. (Rev 19:11-16)
Doesn't that make you want to praise Him? It makes me want to lift my hands and magnify His holy name. He alone is worthy. Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor and glory and blessing. Praise His name forevermore! Pledge your allegiance to Jesus today!
